| Football League 2 Meadow Lane Saturday 15th September 2007 | | Despite their best away performance of the season, the Daggers somehow left Meadow Lane empty handed on Saturday.
For large periods of the match the away side dominated the possession and territory, but one lapse in concentration cost them dear once again.
The Daggers were forced to make a couple of changes to their line up. Skipper Anwar was back at the heart of the defence but Magnus apparently got injured in the warm up and so Ross Smith started alongside the captain. There was no strikers on the bench as Benson and Nurse remained injured while nobody seemed to know where Jamie Taylor was?? Huke continued on the bench, somehow not managing to get a starting place in the midfield (cue howls of derision!!!).
County started the better but their only real threat was coming from ex Forest, Southend, Boston..............centre forward Jason Lee. His mere presence alone was unsettling the visitors defence. It was his header that forced Robbo into a sprawling save down to his left, while Lawrie Dudfield had a half chance but did not hit the target. At the other end the Daggers were starting to exert some pressure. Chris Moore kept the home defence on their toes with a couple of runs in the left channel, while he and Sam Sloma linked well before Kevin Pilkington was able to dive on the ball in his own six yard box to keep the scores level at the break.
County clearly got a rocket from under fire boss Steve Thompson during the interval as they started the second half well. Spencer Weir-Daley struck the post with Roberts beaten, while Lee continued to be a threat. However, once again the Daggers started to take control as the game moved on. Sam Sloma played in Chris Moore who could not reach the pass when Sloma may have been better shooting himself, while Strevens volleyed just over. Moore could also not get his head on a Strevens flick following a long throw from Griffiths. However, all the good work was undone on 83 minutes. Lee knocked down another long ball into the box and Neil Mackenzie volleyed home from about 10 yards. The Daggers picked themselves up and again, created a few half chances around the area. Their last effort came in injury time when substitute Shane Huke's volley whistled inches wide. | Notts County: Pilkington, Canoville, Tann, Hunt, Mayo, Smith (Silk 78), Somner, Butcher (MacKenzie 73), Lee, Dudfield (Sam 87), Weir-Daley.
