| Gravesend & Northfleet 0 | Nationwide Conference Stonebridge Road Saturday 30 September 2006 3:00pm | Dagenham & Redbridge 0 | Report | | | The first chance of the day came when Sam Sloma's cross was powerfully met by the head of Paul Benson, whose header look destined for the top corner until home keeper Cronin lept to pull of a stunning save. Dagenham created another half chance from the resultant corner, but chances after that were few and far between. Charlie McDonald looked lively for Fleet, but generally the hosts were restricted to chances from set pieces. The only other clear chance of the half fell to Benson who was once again thwarted by the impressive Cronin. Fleet began the second half in lively fashion and it was not long before they created the best chance of the afternoon. Conference top scorer McDonald was set free, but in a one on one contest, he lost out to the experienced Tony Roberts. The rest of the game became very scrappy with neither team wanting to give much away. Benson just failed to connect with a Sloma free kick and Sam Saunders had a 20 yard volley easily saved. Despite the support of nearly 400 travelling fans the Daggers could not breakthrough, and their final chance came and went when substitute Paul Bruce headed over Saunders' cross. | Teams | Gravesend: Cronin, James Smith, McCarthy, Ross Smith, Ricketts, DeBolla, Quinn, Slatter, Keeling (Opinel 45), Moore (Sodje 68), MacDonald.
