A very scrappy game which ended in a well deserved draw for the visitors.
Dagenham started poorly, not really getting into the match in the first twenty minutes. Stafford had several chances to take the lead but hadn't put on their shooting boots before the game so didn't really test Roberts. Whereas Dagenham couldn't seem to find a red-shirt in the box, possibly twenty crosses were sent into the Stafford area, none finding anyone in Red. A dismal first half was only brightened by a superb volleyed effort from Scott Griffiths, from 30 yards out Griffiths struck a delightful attempt at goal, the crowd all thought the lead was theirs but thanks to a fine save from the Stafford keeper the sides went in at half-time level.
The second half did not improve too much, same balls flying into the box with no end resuult. The breakthrough came when Moore was introduced to the game, a free kick from the right of the box landed at the feet of new-boy Taylor whose scuffed shot found its way into the middle of about four Dagenham players, the quickest to react was Moore who slotted the ball into a vitually empty net. Daggers didn't really push on from the goal and Stafford fought there way back into the game piling lots of pressure onto the Daggers defence who stood firm for nearly the wgole of the second half, however, Stafford grabbed a deserved draw with a last gasp equaliser from Fat-Boy McNiven, a blatant hand-ball followed by a ridiculous free-kick decision gave Stafford a free kick on the half-way line, Daggers failed to clear the resulting cross and McNiven was on hand to slot the ball past Robbo from 12 yards (not quite the 25 that the BBC claims).
