| | Report Southport turned up looking for the Draw, and went home with exactly that. At some points they could have even won it had it not been for some great goalkeeping from Robbo and the help of the cross-bar. Daggers started the better with some early chances, unfortunately Sloma could only shoot straight at the Southport keeper and Rainford could only head wide. Dagenham were dealt a few early blows as they lost Captain Uddin and winger Sloma to early injuries. This seemed to spur Southport on and they nearly took the lead just before the break with a free-kick on the edge of the area, fortunately the cross-bar was in the way and all the Daggers fans breathed a sigh of relief. Daggers controlled the second half but couldn't put the final ball in the right place, crosses were coming in from both sides of the pitch but not finding anyone in a red shirt. Robbo saved well form Carl Baker late on, and Saunders had a cross-come-shot tipped over the bar by the Southport keeper. The game ended in a stalemate after six minutes of injury time (should have been ten due to the lino breaking a nail), Blakeman of Southport suffered a broken cheekbone in the dying seconds after a colision with Saunders but both were going for the ball and the incident was blameless. John Still will be happy to have kept a clean sheet but I'm sure the boys would have preferred to take the three points too, that would have put us top of the table, but who wants to be top at Christmas anyway???!!!!
