Having secured their first away win of the season at Mansfield on Saturday, the Daggers travel to West London for their first midweek away game since entering the League, to play Brentford.

| Preview | | OPPOSITION Brentford have had a mixed start to the season, since being relegated from League One last term. They have had a couple of good results, including an impressive away win at Chester City, but also some poor ones, including a poor performance against Stockport at the weekend (with ex non league s**m bag Elding grabbing a hattrick for the visitors). The Bees are currently managed by former England legend Terry Butcher. However, Butcher is starting to come under pressure from Bees fans who are keen to see their side challenge for promotion. The Club are run by an interesting combination of a Fans Board, and ex TV Guru, Greg Dyke. Dyke is also copping a little bit of stick at the moment from some supporters.
PAST MEETINGS There have been no previous competitive meetings between the two Clubs, so no form to go on in this area!!!
GROUND Brentford play at Griffin Park. The ground is probably most famous for the fact that it has a pub on all four corners of the stadium!!! The ground capacity is currently just under 13,000, so another pretty large one to visit at this level. There are two seated stands along the side of the ground. At one end is the home terrace. This is now covered having been uncovered for years. This end has been swapped around between the home end and away ends in the past. Away supporters therefore are currently housed in the Brook Road Stand. This is a two tiered stand, and is similar to the South Stand at Southend which was opposite us when we recently visited Roots Hall. However, the lower tier of the stand is terracing, while the upper tier is seating. Apparently the low roof on the lower tier can help to generate a decent atmosphere. The ground is not bad for public transport. Brentford BR station is a few minutes away, while South Ealing and Gunnesbury Tube stations are just about within walking distance.
CROWD Brentford's crowds are down a little at the moment on past seasons. For the last few years they have averaged around the 6,000 mark, but this year it is more around the 5,000 mark. With the team struggling and us probably not providing the most glamorous of oppositions, I would guess the crowd will probably be a little over 4,000. Hopefully the away support will be good. Over 500 travelled to Southend the other week, and while this may be asking a little to much this time, I would guess (and hope) that around 300 will make the relatively short journey for one of our most local away games of the season.
UD TRAVEL With the game being a midweek game, it will all be a little bit of a rush from work. However, midweek games allow those under the thumb more of a chance to travel to away games, so should be a good turnout. Train from Waterloo seems like the best option so it will be a rush from work to there to get the train.
PREDICTION Following Saturday's away win at Mansfield, Dagenham will be in high spirits. A lot will depend on the Brentford reaction from their defeat. They could use this as a response and kick start their season, but if they don't start well the pressure will grow from the stands and they may become edgy. I will therefore sit on the fence and go for a 1-1.
