PRE MATCH
With the Yeoman being out of action, and people coming in from all directions for a Tuesday evening game, we opted to meet in the bar at the ground.  Stew was among the early arrivals and went straight to the top bar as agreed.  Hoggy arrived at exactly the same time but ignored the plan to meet upstairs and stood downstairs on his own until 7.15!!  Various people arrived at different times and it was nice to get into the ground and take our place 5 minutes before kick off, rather than be rushing from the station 1 minute before!!!

ATTENDEES
A very good turnout for this midweek clash.  Of the regulars Middle, Stew, Dogva, Chappie, Gobless (is he regular??) and Browns.  From the semi regulars, Bobby, Hoggy and Beast and a first appearance of the season for one last season's regulars, Homer, dressed in an interesting scarf and cap combo!!

CROWD
Disappointing.  If we cannot get more than 1,900 for a game on a Tuesday night where there was no other big games in the local area, no big games on telly (unless you count Celtic), and for a game against the League leaders, then I am afraid we are forever going to be fighting a losing battle to get people through the door.  MK Plastic bought over 400 with them and so there were less than 1,500 home fans for this game.  The Club, and existing fans, really need to think of ways of doing something about this before it is to late.  God knows what the crowd will be if we go home and have Droylesden on a Tuesday night!!
The MK Plastic fans made a bit of noise, although their singing had the feel of a kids for a quid day, but it was a lot better than our fans who were so quiet it was like a morgue.  Very poor.

GAME
We played pretty well and were unlucky not to get a point.  I am not someone who feels we have been unlucky in other games (you make your own luck), but in this one I felt we genuinely didn't get the rub of the green.  Saying that, if you can't be clinical in either box then you are struggling.  Our defending from set pieces would be funny if it was not so serious, and the fact we have had more corners than anyone else in the division but not scored from any of them should also be a concern.

POST MATCH
Out into the wind and rain and a trot back to the station where we didn't have to wait long which makes a pleasant change.  With the Yeoman out of action it was straight to Upminster's Premier curry house for dinner for most of us, while a couple of people shot straight off home.
