PRE MATCH
With the low Upminster Dagger turn out (see attendees) Winkle offered to have a drive up to Mansfield, denying our friends on the train an upgrade to first class. Winkle set a 11am meet at Upminster station leaving everything to chance that it would be a smooth run through. Forutnately for Winkle the two 45 minute hold ups were on the other side of the road so he could rest easily. Arriving in Mansfield Winkle quickly parked in the nearest fast food outlet, KFC, but was dragged in the opposition direction of the ground. On reaching the ground we wandered past 50 protesting Mansfield supporters who are apparently protesting against the Chairman who is already leaving the club!? When in the ground one of the most reassuring sights in a long while was to see Nurse, Okuonghae and Benson all out warming up on the pitch with John Still obviously trying to keep them involved as much as possible.

ATTENDEES
Small turn out from the Upminster Daggers Winkle, Doggy and Mardle. Middle and Stew were in Madrid on a Stag do, Count was limbering up for the Great North Run whilst Browns was on the final leg of his parents wedding anniversary.

CROWD
Another Stadium with a capacity of 10,000+ with only 2,048 people inside looked decidely sparse. 146 made the trip from Dagenham and were put into the middle section of the stand having paid the £18 to get in (apart from Winkle who got in from £10 somehow

GAME
Once again the first 15 minutes we started poorly but gradually started to get back into the game. Robbo though had to make a couple of good saves in the first half whilst there was some desperate blocks to keep the score level. At Half Time John Still took Chris Moore off and bought on Sam Sloma which lots of people worried was a negative move but it seemed to balance the side out and free up Strevens more. Dagenham should have got more than the one goal from Shane Huke that was to prove to be the match winner and the first league away win.

POST GAME
A jaunt back down the M1 via Toddington services and more specifically Burger King seemed to go pretty quickly, no doubt helped with the news that Wales lost in the rugby and then the ranting and raving Chelsea fans on 606. On arrival back it was a couple in the Yeoman gatecrashing a party
