Pre-Match:

Usual Saturday pre-match warm -up in the Yeoman from 12. Due to Matchball sponsorship, the ranks were swelled to 8 in the seats with Winkle and Wayne reserving several spots on the terrace. Seated attendees included Hoggy and a rare Saturday appearance for Bobby. The pub got into the swing of things by providing many games of free pool whilst being treated to a batting masterclass from soon to be world champions, England.

Attendees:

The usual minus Broons and those already mentioned(and Count made the warm up)

Crowd:

Good size, 1800+  which must have included a fair amount of freebies for the " kick racism out" day. Kiddie showed that all the big ex-league clubs retain their core support by bringing not very many. Best value for them provided by the shirt sponsor who was more vocal than his bench. To his credit, he took Middles form of "praise" very well!! Also good to see Johnny Still interacting with the season ticket holders in the main stand.

Game:
Below par performance from the boys. Got the goal early after good work from Dave " trombone " Rainsford and a cracking CMS finish. Then decided that was that. Fair play to Kiddie, far better side than the league table suggests. If they get it together, they should compete at the right end of things. Still second though…

Post match:
Few lagers and more grub in the sponsors lounge, to be followed by the presentations. CMS rightly got the m.o.m, proudly displayed in a group photo with the boys and the legend that is Ted Hardy (thanks Ted). Then back to Yeoman for a few more sherbets. Only the attempts of Count to get gobless raised the spirits on a unfamiliarly depressing Saturday evening. Still Boston are 2nd bottom..
