PRE MATCH
A pretty early meet for the long trip West to Hereford.  The day started particularly badly for one member of the travelling party who had a little accident at the station, resulting in a dash to the toilets.  The incident was blamed on some dodgy egg mayo the night before!!  Sav was late, and
then appeared from the back of a van being driven by the owner of the local newsagents!! Not sure what that was all about!!  Chappie was meeting us at Paddington and was waiting at the top of the escalators on our arrival with a large box of Krispy Kreme donuts!! Good work Chappie.  We then boarded our train which was full of Americans on trips to Oxford.  They seemed to give us several strange looks for some reason!!  The train then proceeded to stop everywhere!! Places which looked like nobody had been there for 100 years, and certainly places nobody where nobody was getting on or off the train!!  On arrival in Hereford we chose our pub carefully after our last visit here a few years back ended in us hastily having to leave one establishment!!  The pub we found was showing the Wales and Scotland rugby match where and shockingly people were supporting Wales!! I thought everyone in Hereford hated the Welsh??  From there it was a stroll down to the ground, and a real effort to fit through the turnstiles!!
A good job Winkle was not in attendance.  £14 was the cheapest entry of the season though.

ATTENDEES
The Big Four were joined by Saviola who moved into 6th place in the attendance table and is creeping up on Browns.  No amusing excuses for non attendance, and I can't be bothered to make any up!!

CROWD
Just over 2,500 which in Hereford's position is a bit poor.  They seem to play very entertaining football and I would have thought this would be pulling the crowds in but obviously not.  A massive 81 made the journey from Essex.  Pretty poor as well but then we are rubbish whereas Hereford are quite good!! Our away support seemed pretty good at the start of the season, but 60 odd at Morecambe, only 120 odd at Wycombe and less than 100 for this one shows people seem to be drifting away??

GAME
Well, not the best from our point of view.  OK a few things went against us, but we were totally outplayed.  Hereford are the best side we have played going forward, and I reckon if they had needed to they could have scored pretty much whenever they wanted to.  Positives were a good goal froM Strevs who did well again, a decent performance by Solomon and a decent performance from Shabazz upfront.  Leaving out our best player was probably not a great idea to get a result though!!

POST MATCH
Well, the thought of a 6 hour journey home as we left the ground was not a very enjoyable one!!  The first leg of the journey was to sort out food and drink which came in the form of a visit to the local offie, and a visit to the Perfect Pizza next to the station.  Next came a tedious train journey from Hereford to Worcester, only brightened up by eating and drinking what we had picked up before getting on the train.  And then came a very very tedious journey from Worcester to London.  Once again, the train stopped everywhere!!  Literally.  It seemed to go on forever.  Saviloa was by now a little tired and irritable which provided us with our only entertainment.  The train was also totally empty.  12 carriages and about 20 people.  Maybe these train companies will soon start to realise people cannot afford the ridiculous prices they charge??  The ticket inspector therefore had nothing to do for most of the journey so spent it sat with us, talking to Chappie about what trains were there favourites, and whether Crewe or Rugby was the best place for a day's trainspotting!!  And then finally we arrived back in civilisation at Paddington.  Nobody apart from Chappie could be bothered with the tube so we all got a cab, apart from Chappie who saved himself a fiver!!  And then finally on to a C2C train at Upminster where our plan to leave a sleeping Sav on the train to Southend was scuppered at the last minute when he woke up.  What a waste of a day!!
