| Pre-Match With this being the UD's first mass invasion of the season, there was a variety of meets. Some devoured (or didn't touch) breakfasts in the cafe before meeting Deads at Romford (due to the lack of anything running out of Upminster bar the push n pull). The first drama of the day occurred on platform 2 due a malfunction in the train doors! Once a non-running underground system had been negotiated, it was the relatively short trip to High Wycombe. The train conversation mostly referred to the difference in the cost of train travel, the Upminster residents paying a mere £7 for the whole journey! Research done for this trip was courtesy of Sky 1 so the boys pitched up in the wonderfully appointed White Horse pub. Greeted by friendly locals, and a cracking selection of beers, it was almost a shame to leave Scott in the pub holding his pint(pot) Attendees in addition to the big 4, Count, Jeff, Savo joined Middle in celebrating his 40th birthday. Jeff wore some great Nick Faldo style shades for the occasion. Crowd:- Approx 350 made their way round to the leagues worst car-parking facility. Difficult for any off those to get excited to the inept showing from the boys. The home fans got behind their lads who put in a terrific shift. Daggers fans were also subjected to some clown who had real trouble fitting the word "Shearer" into a song. Game:- Wycombe down to ten after 20 minutes but sadly we again looked clueless with a man advantage. Sat too deep and gave away possession to a competent but unspectacular Wycombe side. You have to give them credit, they looked the better side through-out. Could have nicked something undeserved at the death but poetically Strevs dragged his pen wide. Post match As with most travelling fans to Wycombe, it is a bugger to get away from the ground. The UD'S had to search high and low for their cab, fanning out in all directions to check the industrial estates. Thank you to the polite motorists who didn't flatten us at high speed. Always refreshing to see people leg it out of the ground to their car to get away, only to find it boxed in!! After a mad dash to catch the London train that was coming in "literally" 2 minutes, it was a journey of reflection across town. Half the crew were uninvited to Big Cols big gay fun day 30th so they amused themselves with more refreshment. Luckily, the geordies were in town to prove that it isn't all bad! There was still time for some to visit the Bentleys bar in Romford frequented by wannabe gangsters and under age girls!! That and a Wet Spam fan puking his guts up over the railings outside whilst be attacked by young Romford celebrities made for an enjoyable end to another day spoilt by football!
