Pre-match:- Usual warm-up for a Saturday home game with an early meet in the Yeoman for a few beers and grub. Due to the district line being in its 93rd consecutive week of engineering works it was a quiet one for the drivers. We got to the ground so early there were still programmes left and we even got to see Annies attempts at a warm-up. Sadly, much of our skippers efforts reflected what would happen next.
Attendees:- Bumper turn-out for the visit of high flying Bury. The usuals were joined by 4 of the under-5's, Jabba, elbows, bobsponge and Crouch. Deads was again playing in the NHL.
Crowd:- 2300 roughly with 300+ making the monster journey down. Good effort from them. Generally quiet all round especially in the sieve although this was probably due to the mass dilution of Wet Spam and Spuds "supporters". Even saw a Chelski jumper in there. Very Poor.
Game:- Difficult to put a finger on it but in short terms, Bury put the ball in the net. The Daggers seemed flat yet created enough chances to win 2 games and came up against a keeper in Brown who made some great stops. 2 poor goals defensively in the first half undid us but you felt any goal before half-time and we would have got something. Certainly not demoralising. Post Match:- Back to the boozer to spunk some more cash, those with sense shot off long before the karaoke came on!! Savo had to stay safely in the pub to protect the outside world from his hideous body warmer. He's armless really..
